Each week we have fun, love each other, and learn about Jesus. Activities, crafts, stories, and games contribute to this faith experience, as we together build that foundation of faith. Sunday School will begin September 17th, 2017.
2016-2017 Mission Project-Northcott Neighborhood House, Inc.
Our children are supporting the Northcott Neighborhood House in Milwaukee this year as their mission project. Northcott Neighborhood House, Inc. is a multi-purpose community center originated by the Wisconsin Annual Conference of the General Board of Global Ministries in 1961. The agency’s mission is to support family stability, provide educational and recreational programs for youth, lessen neighborhood tensions, combat community deterioration, and provide various social services for neighborhood residents. To raise funds for this mission project, our Sunday School children sponsor a Coffee Fellowship each month. All donations will go to the Northcott Neighborhood House mission.
2015-2016 Mission Project-Ulithi Atoll
Ulithi Atoll is a ring of islands in the Pacific Ocean near Guam that suffered serious damage from typhoon Maysak. They are getting very little relief, so our congregation has decided to help them. We sent them $2,500 in the spring, which was used for emergency relief. Over the course of the school year, the Sunday School children helped to raise $9,100 to send to Ulithi Atoll to help with recovery costs. Our children have the opportunity to form pen pal relationships with their children.
2014-2015 Sunday School Mission Project:
Engineers Without Borders, Platteville Chapter
The Platteville chapter of Engineers Without Borders is building a school in Ghana. During Vacation Bible School, the children Skyped with David Ababio, who was there with the advance team. Earlier this fall David came to share more about the project, and brought pictures and items from Ghana.
By the end of the school year, the kids had raised $4,188.15. They presented their "check" to David Ababio and Dr. Sam Ababio during worship. They are helping people halfway around the world.
2013-2014 Sunday School Mission Project
Our Sunday School children led our congregation in supporting Habitat for Humanity of Grant County. The children raised money through their offerings and through bake sales. Our Christmas mission offering went to Habitat. We have had several church work days on the job site and the children and their parents made lunch twice.
This is an exciting time to be working with Habitat, because they are building the first Habitat house in Platteville this year! The lot is located at the corner of Jefferson St. and Sowden St.
