Welcome to Platteville United Methodist Church!
We know that venturing out to a new church for the first time can be a challenge. With this “visitor’s kit” we have tried to identify and answer most of the questions that first time visitors might have. If this doesn’t answer all your questions, please call our church office at (608) 348-9508. We are eager to welcome you and make your first visit with us a rewarding and comfortable one!
Where is Platteville United Methodist Church?
Our church is located at 1065 Lancaster Street, Platteville WI 53818.
Or click on the "GET DIRECTIONS" link button below for a map view.
Both worship styles contain the same theme and message, so no need to worry about missing something. You can worship every Sunday in the way that's most comfortable for you... Or mix it up and try both styles! Each worship celebration features a sermon that challenges the intellect and warms the heart, inspiring music and a dedicated time for the children.
Now, you probably have some questions. We'll try to cover some of the common ones here.
What should I wear?
We only have one rule: Wear clothes. Yep, be comfortable, or dress up, it's up to you. You will not be judged by your appearance. Much of our Sunday crowd arrives in jeans. Some like to wear a dress, a suit or khakis. Whatever your comfort level is, go for it
How will I know what to do?
We strive to make every effort to make sure our guests are made to feel welcomed and cared for. This means making sure you know where things are, and exactly what to expect on a Sunday morning as much as possible. We do this through multiple ways: on-screen announcements, bulletins, a staffed information center, signage, and smiling, helpful faces throughout the building (You can always ask a greeter or someone at the information counter for help!)
What is the music like?
Music is a big part of our services, and we have many talented individuals giving their praise through this medium. At 8:30 AM, you will be led in song by the choir, along with the organ and/or piano. The bell choir and other musicians will also perform occasionally.
During our 11:00 AM celebration, our band leads the crowd in popular contemporary Christian rock music, touching the souls of young and old alike. This service will generally be more upbeat and energetic, tailored to families and youth.
What do I do with my kids?
Families are welcome to keep children of any age with them in the sanctuary during worship. In fact, we love it!
That's all great, but is there food?
Of course! We serve coffee, refreshments and snacks in the lobby between services.
Thanks, but you didn't answer my question....
If your question wasn't answered here, please feel free to email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call (608-348-9508) and we will be happy to get you the information you need!
